Which Christmas song rings true in your heart? 🎄 PLUS a COVER REVEAL!

Have yourself a blessed little Christmas

Reader,

You've probably heard the song "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" hundreds of times. It's a tender song that pulls on our heartstrings for peace, togetherness, and ease of trouble.

But did you know that song was released in 1944, during WWII, when many soldiers were leaving behind the comforts of home for the ravages of war? The song points to a future hope that "From now on, our troubles will be out of sight."

There's another song in the Bible that also points to a future hope. It's the song Mary sang when the good news of Jesus' birth was shared with her.

Both of these songs point to the ache that often accompanies Christmas. But only one of them anchors us in the upside-down nature of our hope, independent of circumstances.

Read this week's post and tell me which song rings true in your heart this Christmas.

Because Christ came, may your heart be light.

NEW 20-VERSE ARTICLES

We live in a broken, sinful world. We long for peace: a shalom that pervades our lives from the inside out. Although we enjoy little foretastes of peace and enjoy his creation and good gifts, the best part is that Jesus is our peace. He has made peace with us by the blood of his cross, and he promises a day when shalom will be our reality forever. These 20 verses will help you understand the peace of God we enjoy through Jesus Christ.

When depression weighs heavily, it can be hard to find the words to pray or the strength to keep going. This post gathers 20 Scriptures that speak directly into seasons of darkness—reminding us of God’s nearness, His steady peace, and His faithfulness to uphold us when hope feels fragile. If you or someone you love is walking through a hard place, I pray these verses will bring comfort, clarity, and a reminder that you are not alone.

I'm officially "vintage!" Reader, It's not always easy to celebrate getting older, especially when you have a big front-number change. In this week's post, I look back on some of the lessons and themes the Lord's been weaving through my life. I hope that no matter what decade or season of life you're in, you'll recognize some similar patterns of God's patient dealings with you through my...

What you think about this changes everything Reader, We hear (and talk) a lot about the importance of mindset these days. Often, we're encouraged to think or speak in a certain way to produce a desired outcome. The life we want, we're told, is on the other side of changing our minds about it. "Be more positive. Think good thoughts. Don't be so negative." It's true that what we think influences how we behave. But what if, instead of being frustrated with the outcome of our thoughts, we became...
