[FIRST NAME GOES HERE], ready for a mindset shift?

What you think about this changes everything

Reader,

We hear (and talk) a lot about the importance of mindset these days.

Often, we're encouraged to think or speak in a certain way to produce a desired outcome. The life we want, we're told, is on the other side of changing our minds about it.

"Be more positive. Think good thoughts. Don't be so negative."

It's true that what we think influences how we behave.

But what if, instead of being frustrated with the outcome of our thoughts, we became aware that it's the source of our thoughts that's the problem?

Instead of changing the fruit, we need to get to the root.

It's this rotten flesh we live with that needs to be transformed!

We need the Spirit to transform us from the inside out and produce the life and peace we desire.

That's the subject and the question of this week's post. "Is your mind set on the flesh or the Spirit?"

The answer to that question changes everything.

NEW 20-VERSE ARTICLES

Do you confuse hospitality with entertaining? It’s easy to mistake one for the other—especially in our culture, which is obsessed with creating, capturing, and sharing visions of the "good life." There are whole TV networks, social media platforms, and sections in your local bookstore to inspire you to welcome others into your home with style and grace. Undoubtedly, entertaining is an artform, and it can be done to God’s glory.

But entertaining is not the same thing as hospitality.

Class of 2026: Timeless Truths in an Age of Brain Rot

Hail to the conquering graduates! Reader, Next week, my daughter graduates from high school. (How can it be?) I wanted to mark this milestone by leaving her and the other 2026 graduates with some timeless wisdom from God's Word. If you've heard teenagers talking lately, you might've thought you were hearing a foreign language. You weren't going crazy. It does sound like a foreign tongue sometimes, and it takes some context clues to figure out what they're saying. What you heard was likely...

The Most Important Doctrine You've Never Heard Of

This truth changes everything! Reader, This week, I taught at my church's women's Bible Study on 1 John, and we looked at 1 John 4:15. "Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God." The end of that verse reveals an often-overlooked doctrine. Inside those eight words are massive, life-changing, Bible-expanding, worship-producing truths. "God abides in him, and he in God." It just might be the most important doctrine you've never heard of. I hope you'll take...

How Holy Leisure Helps You See More Clearly

Are you spiritually nearsighted? Reader, If you've ever struggled to enjoy reading God's Word, or if it feels like a box you check before moving on with your day, you might be spiritually nearsighted. That's when you can see what's right in front of you, but everything in the distance is blurry. It means we move through the motions of devotion without the right heart posture. We "lose sight" of 'why' we go to God's Word in the first place. Holy leisure helps us refocus our attention on who...
