Set your hope fully on this + BIG NEWS! πŸŽ‰

Hope fully, not hopefully...

When we think of fighting spiritual battles, we probably think of putting on the armor of God---as we should. But often, the battle is won or lost before we've suited up because we're not thinking about it properly.

Peter, writing to elect exiles away from their homes and suffering hardship and persecution, reminded them to prepare their minds, be sober-minded, and set their hope fully on grace.

No matter what trials you're enduring right now, you need to set your hope fully on the grace that's coming your way. There's no uncertainty about what's ahead. It's not a hopefully it will all work out---it's a reordering of your thinking to hope fully.

I hope this will encourage and help.

Some Exciting News!

I'm still pinching myself, but I signed a book contract with Christian Focus Publications this week!

Getting here has been a roller coaster of emotions. At first, I was overwhelmed and doubtful I could write a book proposal. Then, I was nervous about letting others read it. I wondered if I would find an agent (I didn't), then disappointed by rejection (I had several).

But God. Those two wonderful words.

He had a plan for me and this work, and Christian Focus believed in my idea. I'm humbled and nervous but mostly excited about what's in store. (Like I said, it's been a roller coaster of emotions.)

Writing a book takes a long time. Once the manuscript is done, it takes about a year before it hits shelves. In other words, we're looking at 2026 before I'll hold it in my hands, but what a great day that will be! I'm setting my hope fully on the grace that will carry me to that day and beyond.

I hope you'll stick around and follow me on this journey, and even more, I hope you'll pray for me. I feel the weight of this task, my many limitations, and my desperate need for grace. I need MUCH GRACE.

But God.

Whether you've been here a day or since the beginning, thank you for opening these emails and reading my work. Your comments and shares encourage me to keep going. It's for you and the Lord, I'm writing this book.

P.S. If you're wondering what the book is about, it's about pursuing holy leisure. Of course. ;)
